    B&D 18 V Alligator at HD

Lowes has it for $109 down from $129-
    http://www.lowes.com/pd_8783-70-NLP1...StoreSearchCmd

But HD has it for $39 down from $99- in Lake City, Florida Store

I had previously purchased the corded model and was surprisingly impressed with how well it worked. Now I have the 18V to go where the other can't.
I bought an extra 18V battery for $39- the same price as the unit with a battery. I may return the battery, buy another unit for the extra battery, and sell the extra unit without the battery.

You might want to buy another unit for the extra battery, and sell the second unit without the battery, on Craig's List.

Got the last one at the Roseville/Rocklin store. I was on the hunt for another battery for the 18v B&D blower/sweeper I have. So basically it is a free trimmer.

        Thanks!!!

Went back today and returned the extra battery, then looked for more 18V Alligators. Only one left so iI grabbed it, then asked customer service to look in other stores for more. They located some in Gainesville,(50 mi away) so I ordered three more, and paid $39 less my usual 10% Vet Discount, shipped free to my local store. Once I get them, I will remove all batteries and charges, then sell the units sans B&C, since on line they can be ordered with($89) or without ($74.96). These units are being discontinued by HD. I don't know why, because they work great and Lowes still has them for $109 (with) down from $129.

While near the garden tool section I noticed a product for Bar B Ques called
FlameDisk- a charcoal replacement using ethanol, that burns for 45 minutes.
Originally priced at $4.99, they were reduced to $2.70, also being discontinued.
Amazon has a set of three for $17.99. HD had two cases of 12 each left, so I bought all 24 of them at $2.70 each-less my usual 10% Vet Discount.

It was a Good Day !

Thanks for the tip, I was looking for one of these. By the way, how do you get a veteran discount? What type of ID they need. Do you tell the cashier? You know how it is sometimes the cashiers are not informed and then they call the manager while the line behind you grows,

I show my photo ID issued by my local VA Medical Center. Every Honorably Discharged Vet has earned treatment at any VA center for life.

Really, I didn't know all veterans qualified for VA benefits. I served in artillery during the vietnam war, left the military and later came back to the reserves for several years.since I the service I have suffered from ringing in my ears- now I need hearing aids. I paid $5,000 for my present and nearly dead Hearing aids and my insurance doesn't cover. Maybe the VA can help + getting the 10% store discounts. Thanks for the tip.

Samuel- Based on what you have said, you may qualify for a "Service Connected Disability". I got a friend of mine to go down and sign up, and he got FREE hearing aids.

Even if you got the lowest percent "SCD", it would get you about $123.00 per month tax free. In addition don't forget if you apply for SSI to get credit for your military years.

Go for it-you earned it. Remember all those extra hours that never paid any overtime? These are your compensations/benefits well earned.

Most VA Hospitals have libraries, commissaries, and stores-not restricted to Service Retirees. I have purchased shoes, and sandals in the stores and best of all, no tax!
