Holy processed horse food ! I'm with tommy on this one. The only plastic parts on mine are the guards and the only way you could break either one of those would be to drop the sander on the floor or drop something on the sander itself. Doing either of those two things would not fall under the category of wear and tear.

Yea, the plastic is mainly in the dust shrouds/guards.

Mine's part wood now too. I had to fabricate the removable safety switch, somebody removed mine while it was on display. I also added a couple infill pieces under the base on the front and back. The edges of the sheetmetal base didn't feel good on my hands moving the thing around. Some rounded over strips of 3/4 MDF sure did make it easier to handle.

        Hey guys,

You are correct. Just came in from the shop (garage) and after taking a real good look at the sander, yup, it's just the guards that are plastic. The metal housing has a plastic look and feel, but it is metal.

It's still a great tool for a good price.

But somehow, I'll always think of it as mostly plastic.

Do you know if it's comming from the Heighlanb Heights KY store I mentioned above (which is 5 miles outside of Cincinnati)? The reason I'm asking is if you got the last boxed one, I want to go make an offer on the display. They told me they wouldn't sell the display model until the other boxed one was sold.

Hey Randy, no this one was in Cincy proper...I think I have the store # out in the garage still...but the one you mentioned was down to just the display. The guy said it was missing a few parts when I spoke to him, so you should head over there and wheel and deal!
