This may be old news but I remember reading some posts a while back about outrageous prices for AP1300 replacement planer knives. HD has them for $20/set and I just picked up three sets on eBay for $17.95 per set.
I finally had to flip the knives on my planer yesterday after watching it take divots out of some cedar 2x6s. Once you get the screws broken free, it's pretty simple. Sharp knives mean less noise and a nicer finish.
