I try to avoid "store bashing" in forums.

I've noticed in the frequent "Made in the U.S.A" sale flyers that there are many products made in Wisconsin factories. There are quite a few made in Illinois, too. I can buy all U.S.A made sheet goods at Menards, and I don't have to worry about the crappy delaminating China s*t goods that other big boxes in the area sell.

I grew up in Wisconsin, but I don't understand your dig that Menard should be "deported" to Minnesota. Industry is full of jerks.

DeuceLee, thanks for your rebate tips.

Speaking of the Menard's Made In The USA sales, there is one going on right now thru 8/1/10. Their current sales flyer is 24 pages of product that is all on sale and every single item on all 24 pages is made in the good ole US of A. I wonder if Lowes and HD could boast about that volume of Made In USA inventory. I would say that John Menard is doing more than his fair share to keep jobs in America.

I would be willing to bet the other big boxes carry just as much "made in the usa" stuff as menards.

Plus, you sconnies can keep John, we (Minnesotans) don't want him!

Not if you believe all the bellyaching you read on all these forums about all of the Made in China products at the big boxes.

Menard's is a company that is proud of and advertises the fact that many, many of its products are made in this country. I don't see much of that from the other box stores. Many people out there complain that they can't buy American made product anymore but here is a company that advertises exactly what country of origin some of their products are from. Menards even goes so far as to tell you, in the advertisement, what State the product is made in.

BTW, us "sconnies" as you call us will gladly keep John and all the millions of dollars he pumps into this state through the taxes he pays.

Like I said, I am not trying to convert any here, I was just pointing out that I don't shop there, and my reasons why. Actually nice to see some others agree though.
