Ceiling mount bike hoist - $10 @ Amazon

The price has been stable for an entire 24 hours. The reviews are very good and this looks like it could easily be modified to lift almost anything 50 lbs or less. I almost didn't post this (a bit of a stretch for BT3Central), but at least in my case this will help make more space for tools.

    See this link.

With a slight modification it could also be used for a ladder or a wheelbarrow.
I hate the ones that are actually made for a wheelbarrow. Still a waste of space, but I can see a potential with one of these.

They're up to $15 now, but still a good deal. I bought 2.

I actually am really interested in the 4'x4' platform lift. I may have to look into that...

          Currently at $8.99

          FYI, the Amazon yo-yo continues.

This is now one full dollar (!) lower than in June: down to $8.99.

With Amazon Prime, I have no idea how they make any profit on this stuff...

I have a couple of these I got for $5 on clearance at a local True Value a few years back. They work pretty well for bikes, and I've used one for a folding aluminum ladder with good results. My current garage/workshop has a fairly low ceiling, so they're not that useful to me at the moment, though.

FYI, Harbor Freight carries the same thing:

            http://www.harborfreight.com/bicycle-lift-95803.html

They list it for $15, but it's almost always on sale for $8 (as it is right now).

I have a couple of the HF models, and they appear to be identical to the higher price models that I've seen at sporting goods stores. I've been very happy with them.

On all of the ones that I've seen, regardless of brand, the rope that comes with them is poor quality, with a loosely woven braid (to sell these things as inexpensively as they do, somethings got to give). I recommend spending a few bucks to replace the rope (I recall about 50' each).

              Good luck.

I bought two of these when they were at $10 at Amazon. I thought it'd be a cool and efficient way to store my bike in my new garage. But then I realized that there's really no benefit to this method over using bike hooks, unless you have a really high ceiling in your garage. My ceiling's about 8', so I don't have that problem. So for most people, I thin two $0.50 hooks work well too....

Just my opinion, having bought two of these...

I just bought two of these but not really planning on using it for my bikes because I already have a wall rack thing for my bikes. I am kind of planning on using this for my ladders. Has anybody actually used one of these for the ladder? How far apart do you set the pulleys? Any details or pics would be greatly appreciated.

                  Kindest Regards,
                  Chris
