Yes, good price.
More importantly though, it seems to me that Amazon might be getting back into discounting. I haven't seen a good price on much of anything for over a year from them, IMHO.
I brought this up before, that I thought they had pretty much gone out of the discount end of the business. Some agreed and some didn't. but this and a Hitachi saw they had the other day are making me wonder if they're back in the game?
You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.
IMO neither is any safer than the other. As far as ease of handling is concerned, the Milwaukee wins this battle, again IMO, simply by the fact it weighs only 2/3rds as much as the Makita. Now, if you happen to have a set of forearms that resemble those of Popeye's than the Makita should be a piece of cake to use.

I really can't stand use any circular saw that isn't a barrel saw with the blade on the left. How do you guys deal with not being able to see your line without craning your neck over to the other side? (assuming you are right handed)
Actually, sight line to the blade is one of the strong points of this Milwaukee model. I can clearly see the blade and cut line from the left side of the saw, cutting right handed.

I believe it is like with the table saw. There is no reason to watch the blade during the cut. You are supposed to watch the fence rather than the blade - it is more usefull. Make sure the saw (or the wood for the table saw) is firm against the fence and it will guarantee your cut is fine.
