    HD Plywood

Just got back from HD with the last four 4x8 sheets of Chilean 3/4" cabinet-grade (softwood) plywood they had in stock. I was told these were from a factory in Chile that was destroyed and the possibility of getting more in the near future is practically nil - so my local HD was told to clear out existing stock. Also told me their clearance price was $29.95 a couple of days ago and today they dropped it to $23.97/sheet.

This is 7-plies and looks to me like it will be just fine for general shop use. Still sitting on my pickup as I write this, so haven't cut into it yet looking for voids, etc. Since my local HD has mostly what I would call 'junk' plywood, this, to me, is a real find.

Seeing what I am seeing in Restaurant and grocery stores, I am happy they aren't doing the what the other imports are; going higher.

If it suits your purpose, it's cheap enough. Check it out for loose plies, out of square, uneven thickness through the sheet, and careful with voids.
