Certainly not the best in class but if you get one for $107.93….

      Thanks! No I don’t.

I am just starting from scratch to gather some woodworking tools and equipment for a budget, space limited, mobile, work area so I can try my hand at some woodworking projects in the spring. I ran across the BT3 forum about a month ago while googling and set my mind to acquiring a BT3X00. Well, last week I made a quick 500 mile round trip and am now the owner of a fairly mint BT3100!

Just working right now on understanding saw maintenance and proper set-up/alignment. Just got Loring’s FAQ this weekend to work through. Next purchase is some graphite lubricant and measurement tools – framing square and an Incara T-Rule.

Always on the lookout for a deal and thought I’d share my find. My local Sears has them for that price but priority dictates a router purchase first.

Seems there's one of these in the Sears in Ventura, CA, for $143. Looks decent, but would duplicate the planer I already have.

i own one of the subject planers. got it in a suburb just north of NYC for $120 in 2009. it is heavy and was probably overpriced at sears at it's bust out retail price of $449. BTW, it is the same planer as this one form grizzly, but without the power auto lift:

          http://www.grizzly.com/products/13-2...llection/G0689

i even downloaded the grizzly manual as it is more informative and better written than the sears manual. and i will fo anything to avoid sears' website as it always seems to move slower than any other site.

it's not a bad planer, although there are better planers out there. it definately wasn't worth the full retail price, but at $120, it was a good deal for a passable planer. the 2 blade cutter head does a good job an and it gets rid of chips quickly and easily. at the $107 price, you won't be disappointed. it is definately worth it!
there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.

And the problem with that would be??? ;-)

I only bought one - only had two others, a portable and a stationary. I think net cost ended up being something like $100, too good a deal to pass up. I bought it months ago when the closeout deal was posted here.

Can't comment on the quality, though - it's still in the box
