    Menards - 15% Bag Sale

Menards has the 15% off bag sale going on until Jan 10. Buy the bag for $0.98, get 15% off whatever fits inside.

I picked up a 4 pack of 6" Irwin quickqrip clamps for $12.75.

!!!!!WHAT!!!!! They're making you buy the bag now?

So, you gotta spend $6.50 before you receive enough discounts to pay for the bag. I gotta hand it too John Menard's marketing team, they do come up with some very gimmicky sale ideas.

Office Depot has a bag sale but the bag is free. It's one of those large paper shopping bags. I think some items are exempt.

        I believe the bag .....

is reusable, cloth like. Not a paper bag.
I am in shape. Round is a shape!

          Here's the deal.

1)As posted it's not the paper bag anymore, it's one of those reusable bags.

2)YOU CAN USE AN OLD ONE if you already have one. They've been free after rebate several times in the last few months- so maybe you already have one. Just bring it with you to the checkout and they deduct the 15%. Of course I was at the store when I found this out- too late.

On a side note- I think it's one more way to get people into using these reusable bags. I had read an article back in the summer about how many bags WalMart goes thru a month (it was an insane amount!) and how much money they could save if people brought their own bags.
