Good find - looks like both of my local Lowes have these. Now, do I really need another 18V drill? True, I don't have a cordless jigsaw or sander yet...

Not bad at all. Now I just have to think if I know if anyone on my gift list who needs a set like this.

Buy it and sell the drill.

Just tried to order one for delivery - they wanted $59.00 to ship it.

Placed another order at a B&M, called within minutes to let me know the online status was wrong and they were sold out.

Trying another one nearby, let's see how that works out. This would be a great gift for several folks I know.

This is a great deal, but I was ready to get the Hitachi driver drill posted about earlier:

            http://www.reconditionedsales.com/Hi...d)___i248.aspx

Am I right to say the Hitachi, even though reconditioned is better than the Skil drill?

I have and old B&D jigsaw, Makita sheet sander, and I don't need the light.

            Thank you.

I believe you ARE right. The Hitachi comes with TWO batts., and it is an ID. A reality check tells me that I don't need a flashlight that these kits almost always include. And when have I ever REQUIRED a ROS or a JS to be cordless? Never. I think you'll be MUCH better off with the Hitachi ID. I just ordered the Hitachi.

              Just my 2c worth.

Thank you. I incorrectly read the Skil one and thought it was an ID too. I just ordered the Hitachi myself.

This is the BEST deal. Hitachi drill, 18v at $49, two batteries AND a flashlight. I have the same drill with Li and like it better than my Bosch.

I picked up a cordless Ridgid jigsaw off of the closeout shelf at HD a few months ago. And I've gotta say, it's pretty dang useful. Not as powerful as my corded saw. But great for small quick cuts. I am glad that I have it. Cordless sander? I can think of a few times it would have been handy, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one.
