    Makita 2030 - Chicago Area

Not mine. $385 would be worth a look if I wasn't limited on space and already sitting on a Delta 390 and AP1300 that I picked up for $200 combined.

For some strange reason the Crystal Lake/Woodstock area seems to be a vortex of disturbingly cheap woodworking equipment. Also picked up a BT3K complete, except for it needed new miter sliders, for $60 a few months back.

FWIW, they sold for around $1500 new and I don't think you could replace one with a new equivalent for less than $3,000 today. I really like mine.

If I was near there I'd have that in a flash.

I'm near there, but if I showed up at home with something that large, I'd be using it to hold up my new tent/house after I got kicked out

Same problem I had, that and my wife would kill me if I showed up with duplicates of existing machinary.

On the bright side having grown up using a friend's fathers' I very much agree with woodturner, they're top notch. Twenty years later and he still runs boards through it on a weekly basis.

Anyways, they barely weight 300 lbs. My 390 comes in at around 220lbs and the tables are only 48". With the Makita you get a full 59" for jointing and full 13" planing. That extra half foot of support on the infeed table alone is worth having to build it and you a new home in your backyard. Think of it as training for that day you show up with a cabinet saw.
