it depends on the store if they will take both. I know my local store will not accept coupons and percent off at the same time anymore.

It depends on whether the prices are ad prices or coupon prices. Was the price on a coupon or just a price in the ad. If it is just a price in the ad then you should be able to use the 20% coupon as well.

Those are good prices regardless for both.

they are coupon prices, my local store won't add them together but they are still good prices.

These are coupons. I think you could probably do better with the multifunction tool, but i haven't seen the dust collector anywhere near that for some time, even with a 20% off coupon.

With the Dremel Muli-Tool at $99, is the HF really worth it?

Is that a recent issue of Wood? $140 is pretty good for the alleged 2hp DC.

That may depend on how often you use it. I have been very happy with mine and have had no difficulties at all, but I am not sure it would hold up to everyday use, which is probably true of a lot of HF stuff.

And it's the version with the 5 micron upper bag, too. That's still a bit short of the ideal, but it's a heck of a lot better than the original model (now apparently discontinued) that used fishnet stockings for bags.

If you buy one of these, make sure you get the correct model, in case some of the originals are still in the pipeline.

Good advice. The ad in the latest flyer calls out both part numbers as if they're interchangeable. P/N 97869 is the 5 micron one and 45389 is the old 30 micron one.

From having looked at the two, I think the HF is on par for the Dremel. I wasn't impressed with the dremel at all.

Awesome price on the DC. I just bought one...figures.

If I can find a scan of the coupon, I will try to get them to refund some of my $$$

I had a specific need for one of these tools (cutting out window sill for replacement) and tried out the Dremmel which was on display at HD. I was not pleased with how it cut, so I went down to HF and purchased their similar tool. I was quite surprised that it did precisely what I needed. Over the next several days, I also found it handy for some interior trim repair, as well as cutting some very tough sealant in order to remove a damaged exterior door unit. I am very satisfied with the HF device. Even if it were to conk out the next time I use it, I feel that I got my money's worth.

thiggy makes a good point - with deals and/or coupons you could probably buy three HF models for the cost of the Dremel - and probably quite a few for the cost of the Fein.
