I saw this over at WoodNet and apparently it is still going on. They are offering all merchandise at 10% over cost plus shipping. No free shipping even on orders over $99. You must enter WoodNet in the shipping instructions or comments section in order to get the discount. Lots of great deals to be had. Check it out, Tommyt654

I've purchased quite a bit of stuff from Hartville so I know they are a reputable company. The part that I just can't seem to get my arms around is that you won't know what you're being charged until you receive the product. Unless I didn't understand the owners original post, that's how this sale is working. In this day and age you'd think that they could figure out a way to let you know what their sell price is before you have to pull the trigger on your order. I guess I'm just not that much of a gambler._________________________

I have talked to a few friends about this and they all agree they have saved lot of money. I dont believe its much of a gamble but if you think its risky then I would not make any purchases. But they are reputable and by viewing your charge card statement online you should be able to figure out your savings immediately and most of the people who I know that made purchases said they got an e-mail billing within a few hours. Just my 2 cents for what its worth. The other deal for the Kreg Bandsaw fence is still ongoing and a great deal as well,TommytLast edited by tommyt654; 07-31-2009, 05:50 AM.Comment

I agree with Sweensdv about the "risk" involved. Not that this company is shady (far from it by all accounts), but "risk" as in variability or unknown outcome. You're not likely to get a bad deal, but on low markup items it could mean that free shipping would be a better deal than cost +10, and you have no way to know ahead of time.
I'm not knocking them for offering the deal, just stating that I'm generally an "evaluate, then buy" kind of person. That makes this deal interesting, but not something I'd jump at until I heard that someone received XYZ for ABC astonishingly low price.Comment

Got my order today and saved almost 47% on mostly lathe and sharpening accessories.
If you're on the fence.....jump off!!! Jason (HartvilleTool) will take good care of you.Comment

You see the discount once your card is charged. You can go into your order history and see the regular price as well as the price charged. I guess they have to go into the order look at the items cost, add 10% and do each order that way.
Certainly many vendors would raise a stink if the prices were published.
I bought one item that got no extra discount, because it was on clearance anyway. I guess it was 10% above cost as is.Comment

I put an order in yesterday and it wound up right at 1/2 price.

Congrats to all who have chosen to reap the discounts and taking what I considered a minimum risk to gain large discounts. I shall continue in my endeavors to bring attention to good deals to my fellow woodworkers whenever possible, TommytComment

Can people who have received their shipments provide some details of what they bought and how much it cost/saved them? Just trying to get a ballpark of what I could look to, and also which particular type of item attracts the most discount.
I am guessing since shipping is not free, it'd be better get more items in the same order? It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

I bought a Kreg bench clamp system, which I'd been wanting and needing, a pair of Bessey Variopivot adapters, which I sorta-kinda wanted because I'd long thought they looked useful in certain situations, but not enough to pay full price for; and a few small, miscellaneous items (silica gel packs and like that). I don't have my invoice at hand but when the credit card charge was posted I calculated that I saved enough to cover the shipping plus an additional 20% or so.
The savings was okay, but I was hoping to do better. I guess they couldn't discount these brands as much as some of the other deals I've read about (up to 50% off). But I was reasonably satisfied with the adjusted bottom line, all things considered.LarryComment

It is requested not to post specific prices in public forums (some vendors may give them trouble for their prices), but my retail $78.59 order came to $51.83, both before shipping. Shipping would have been the same either way ($9.95). I ordered a couple of mag switches, incra rule, dust fitting, and UHMW tape. I had some pretty good discounts, but with shipping it i probably could have come within $10 waiting for sales, coupons, and free shipping specials elsewhere. Since you pay actual shipping, i think people with larger orders probably come out a lot better.
If you want any specific prices on these items, i would be glad to send them to you via a PM.EricComment
