    Griz TS deal $400 Phoenix

After yesterdays rather hopefull CL seller asking $325 for an old but clean BT3000 here is a much better deal.

If you are considering a darkside purchase in Phoenix check out this Grizzly table saw. It is the 444Z contractors model but looks in great shape, has a mobile base and a Freud blade. If anybody knows what they are looking at I bet it wont last long.

the saw retails for $725, the base $65 and a freud blade could be anywhere from $50- $100. So thats nearly $850 worth for $400 if you pay his asking price.

that seems a little high for a used asian contractors saw. I know the Grizzly stuff is very popular with the hobbyists, the majority of who populate these forums. But it is still just cheap asian tools. Not something that the pros buy or will give years of daily trouble-free use.

Ditto that. If I had the $400 to spend, I'd save (or borrow) another $200 and buy the new Ridgid granite-top hybrid.

If you want a used contractors saw and don't mind investing some sweat equity and possibly a new fence, look for one of the old Emerson-built Craftsman saws, they turn up everywhere and can often be had for under $100. I paid $100 for mine on CL, $80 for a Jet fence on Ebay (1 week before Lowes closed out the Delta Unifence!), and splurged by spending $100 on an NIB Jessem Mitre Excel also on CL (this was too good to pass up, retail for that gauge is $250).
