    Delta 36-979 $299

I was able to pick up a Delta 36-979 for $299 at Lowe's in Orange City FL. It was already marked down to $399 so I talked to the manager an he reduced it to get it out the door. I got it W/O the fence as I got one when they went on sale in the past. It was the last one and a floor model to boot but there may be more out there in the wild.

That's an awesome deal on that saw. Now you've got some extra money for a decent blade!
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

      Sweet deal!

Be sure to double check motor alignment before you plug it in & hit the start button. The guys that do the assembly work only put them together. They don't go through the trouble to make sure everything is in perfect alignment.

I recently purchased a floor model Delta Bandsaw that was missing 2 bolts on the stand (no big deal) but after checking the motor I found out that it only had 1 bolt to mount it & it was only hand tight. Of course Delta was more than glad to send me a whole package of bolts free of charge. But, be sure & give it a good going over before you plug it in.

Thanks for the tip. I down loaded the manual and I plan on going through it like an out of the box purchase, step-by-step. Your tip reinforces my plan not to rush it. I already had to partly disassemble it in order to get it off my pick-up, it is a monster compaired to what I'm used to. I did notice loose bolts, incomplete assembly and such so it will need a good going over and conditioning cleanup. Also some non-critical parts seem to be missing. The tool guy yesterday told me that it had been on display for so long that some of the parts were missing but he did not try and look ie. missing manual. I'm going to go back today and try and get them to at least look for the stuff. All in all I'm still happy I got it as none of the problems seem to be a show stopper...yet.
        Thanks,
        Leon

Yeah that thing weighs in at about 275 lbs. I just put one together for my Dad. Delta should send you anything that is missing. Most manufacturers will. I don't think I would volunteer that it was a floor model though. Just tell them you bought it & what is missing. It may not matter but I wouldn't muddy the waters with trivial info if you understand what I mean.

Be sure & get a good coat or 3 of paste wax on that top & enjoy your deal! I bet it's one heck of a table saw.

I'm on it! I just got back from Lowe's and they did not have any additional stuff, but they did give me the 888 number to call and told me to let them know what's missing/broken and they should make it right.
            Thanks again,
            Leon

Thanks for reminding me abouth the paste wax!

They did not make it right,
They just gave me the contact info for the local service center and they wanted to fix it for a fee+parts. I just ordered the parts online for another $45.00. Still a good deal, I think, just a bump in the discount road.
