While agonizing about dust protection for woodturning, I came about a sale for the Trend Airshield Pro, $299:

I got mine today. While I have not used it in ernest yet, here my first impressions:
Weight: it weighs about as much as a heavier helmet. After adjusting it sits fairly comfortable and well balanced.
Noise: it is louder than I had hoped, and given that it is in contact with your head hearing protection (see below) does not help that much.
Titling: tilting the shield up seems to not be all that useful. It does not tilt all that far up, and tilting it up is almost as much work as taking it off.
Smell: it does smell... plasticky smell. Hope that airs out fairly quickly.
Glasses: other than having to be careful when putting it on and taking it off glasses seem to be no problem. Under certain lighting conditions my glasses reflect a bit in the shield though, will have to see if that is a problem in the shop.
Hearing protection: anything with a band over the had will not work with it, and I don't like plugs. I bought the (expensive) hearing protectors for it, as I intend to also use it in fall when mulching leaves (dusty, loud). Turns out two small plastic clips that come with the shield with no apparent function or mentioning in the manual are vital when installing the hearing protectors, so don't loose them! Getting those clips mounted on the protectors was a pain in the neck. The instructions are not very clear, and it required a good bit of force. Once done though there were no problems. The protectors do not push hard on the ear, but seem to work well.
Visor: the visor overlays do not cover part of the bottom, but that should not be much of a problem.
Shroud: the shroud that sits around your face does not look like it is going to hold up for all that long, time will tell.
I have not used an Airshield or the Triton system before, so I can't compare it with either.
