Hope somebody else has better luck than me with the receipt. Manager told me that it was still a stock item in the local market and that he could not price match to a non-stock item. Oh well, maybe give it a while before they blow them out here.

Thanks again for the receipt Tommy.
If you can read this you assembled wrong.

Ugh the prices went back up to normal again. The 2 places that had them for $258 are back up to $369. Maybe they changed their minds about discontinuing them.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Tommy, I'm just guessing but did you fall off that ladder while you were stacking up all the money you saved on power tools?

No such luck for me; I tried the Lowes in W. Jacksonville and they told me they do not match the prices of other out-of-area Lowes stores. So I tried the store in S. Jax (Mom said "no," let's see what Dad says) and got the same answer.

Thanks for trying, Tommy. Maybe somebody will get lucky. I hope your leg heals well and quickly (Do you get HBO on that?).

Yes, Plus Starz. I,m sorry it seems nobody is having any luck getting these at this price. For what it,s worth an associate of mine works for McBride Mechandising Dist. they are they guys you see in H.D. and Lowes changing their inventory pricing and from what he says Lowes will be closing stores down soon as well, So maybe thats why the prices went back up . I don,t know, with whats going on with the economy we may see something change again soon. By the way my Orthopedic Surgeon said this leg would get better reception than a Com-----cast. HA,HA.Oh and I forgot about the Wilton Planer for $99 at Rockler.

I tried the copy of the receipt last night at another Lowes in another town. The manager told me that they do honor receipts from others Lowes stores but not on clearance items. I didn't even bother to pull out the copy I had in my pocket, I just left.

Didn't work for me either. I tried. In fact, I'm more disappointed that I failed to get a killer deal. Usually, my wife stares in disbelief, astonished how I am able get 50-70% tools. This time, she just looked at me like, "now you know how I feel!"

But woe is me. I shamefully walked out empty handed.

I managed to get my DP on 1/30/09 after a price discussion with the Lowes tool manager. Strangely no one saw the $258.30 clearance sticker on either the DP/BS which were removed. I used a 10% coupon to price adjust the DP yesterday. The "clearance" price is definitely over for now in my area.
