The Delta 28-276 Bandsaw has gone N/S (nonstock) at my Lowes in Atl. I called several stores and got prices from the internet advertised $369 to $258, so keep an eye out for this item as inventory drops at your local Lowes. This could become the next JT-360 for $89 or the next AP-400 for $45 just a heads up but whatever you do ,DO NOT call your Lowes as soon as an employee finds out the grab-em up and the windup on Craigslist, Goodhunting, Tommyt654

I know this probably isn't the place to ask, but how is this bandsaw?
In the last week, we have had several on CL, including a Jet with Riser for $375. I'd like one, but am holding off until dad is out of the hospital and on his own and well, and we get the medical bills (going on week 4).She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice. -
From all I have read a very good basic bandsaw, Some say underpowered with a 3/4 H.P. motor, but overall a decent saw. You can get a riser for this model if you chose to resaw with it just go slow as it lack power for large resaw cuts. Like I said when the price is right grab one they will drop dramatically in a short period of time so keep an eye out. Try to find a store with 3 or more in stock as they will drop price quickly to reduce inventoryComment

Anybody here have significant usage of a recently-made 28-276?
The reviews I find online range wildly from "just as good as anything else in that price range" to "complete crap", but there seems to be a pattern that the worst reviews are from a few years ago when it (Chinese model) was first introduced to replace the US-made model. Perhaps it has since been improved?Comment

Still 369.00 in the Columbia, SC area stores.
"Tool Man" told me I'm wasn't the only one watching the prices.
This thread is going to grow and it would be nice if
everyone would enter atleast their state into "Location"
in their file.
I'll post when I find it lower.Comment

Can anyone post proof of the $189 price in Atlanta? Or which store it is? I know someone that will match that price, but I have to have proof."A fine beer may be judged with just one sip, but it is better to be thoroughly sure"Comment

I own this saw. I think the power is pretty good, and cutting speed on this saw is a function of blade quality. I moved up from a 1/2in 3tpi no-name blade to a 3/4in 3tpi Timberwolf, and WOW - what an improvement in cut quality and cut speed. I don't have the riser, but am slicing 6in logs into boards - my comments are at this post:

I did a Tool Review on this saw after my setup and test cuts following its purchase during the holidays, which can be found here:Anybody here have significant usage of a recently-made 28-276?

I don't believe the price has dropped from $369 in my area (North Orange County, CA), but a friend who wants one is checking, and if he finds any price drops, I'll pass it along.Bill in Buena ParkComment
