This auction is for Redmond & Son, who recently moved from Austell, GA to Newnan. Great guys to deal with! Here is their website.

so are you bidding on the knee mill (incorrectly titled as a turret mill) or the cold saw?Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas EdisonComment

I scan the IRS Auction site about once a month. I've never watched anything all the way to the close of bidding (nothing close enough, lots of interesting stuff though). About a year ago there was an auction in North Carolina that had massive amounts of lumber. IIRC, there were 2500 bdft lots of cherry and maple that sold for $1,000-1,500. It was #2 common, but I was looking for a used flatbed truck to try to score a couple of these lots. This auction down in Georgia has an interesting assortment of tools. Lots of single phase, and lots of unused stuff. I couldn't find any infomation on the website concerning the business being liquadated.\"He who dies with the most clamps, WINS!\"Comment

yeah... I'll be watching too.
Some awesome stuff there that I don't have room for.
'honey, I know that you can't fit the car into the garage, but this 8" jointer just followed me home... and the bandsaw followed the jointer... can't we keep 'em?"Comment

From the other post it is not a business being liquadated, it's just another Redmond's deal. They tend to hord up tons of old machines and every once in a while have a sale ( this is at least the 2nd irs one they have done in about as many years) , and I suspect the "new" stuff has some slight shipping type damage that they were able to write off as not sell-able. Their old location had a TON of old machinery/etc that was just stacked to the ceiling. My understanding is the owner is a bit of a , uh, ... collector.....ChrisComment

Wow there is like mucho good stuff in the Newnan GA auction that concludes on 12/17/2008. About 3 or 4 8" jointers still in boxes. A lot of the machinery looks to have very little abuse er use. All that great stuff and I have no way to get any of it.
