          Wow... Bummer... Sounds like the previous owner was burning the candle at both ends... I have learned when buying used stuff that it ain't yours until it's in the truck.

          Conversely, as a seller, I have also learned that if you start telling people it's gone before somebody shows with the cash, truck and helper, then you're more times than not, gonna be sitting there waiting for people who never come, and then trying to get back in touch with those you kept away. Messy business, sometimes.

          "First come, first served" is pretty much the only way to handle it, and tell 'em all that very thing.
