I was looking at the HF unit on display the other day. It was partly bolted down to table but I was able to swing partly over the edge to look underneath.
Can anyone who has this machine answer this. It looks like the motor mount and switch mount are all attached to the plastic case which appears very flimsy. If it was only a shroud, it might not matter but if the basic frame is thin plastic maybe wiser to pay a little more for the Tiger with the steel cover.
    What say ye?

I saw an older Tiger, after a few (unknown number) years of use and it was a horrible, rusted mess. I was thinking that you could reinforce the the switch with a backer plate.

Or maybe take the ideas used on reinforcing the plastic BT3100 crank handle to fill out this plastic case. Might void the extended warrantee that some bought however

I ground and honed a large skew on this puppy and it cuts like a dream. Much better that the performance right off the white wheel on the slow speed grinder. I'm a happy camper so far. Going to fabricate a tool rest to make things easier and maybe a gouge jig to make things easier.

In case anyone still wants to pick one up, there is a new coupon on the web site for the sale price good thru 11/24.
