    Makita LS1013FL SCMS $399 @ Home Depot

One of my local Home Depot stores (Commerce Twp, MI) on Sunday and noticed that they had dropped the price on this saw from $499 to $399. It looked like a permanent markdown as it was a normal white sticker that said $399 was $499 both on the shelf sticker and the tag sticker on the display unit.

I've had my eye on this saw for a while to replace a 10" slider that I got from Homier several years ago. Well, just happens that I have a birthday coming up, and some credit card reward points to cash in, so I mentioned it to LOML and she said that it would make a great Bday gift. I picked one up last night. It was the last one on the floor, but they may have more in stock. I did check one other HD (pontiac) on my way home from work yesterday and they had 3 on the floor, but still marked at $499, so YMMV. I would think they would price match with another HD store.

My local HD also has this saw marked at $399. The price tag hanging on the saw still says $499 but the tag underneath the saw where the stock is kept said $399 and yes, it was a white tag.

      Great Saw - Happy B'Day

I have the version without the light - awesome saw. The included blade is ok, but being it's your birthday mention to your wife that a nice 60 tooth would be a wonderful present from someone else.

Never pass by an opportunity. If it's the same as mine, it came with the Makita 40 tooth.

Enyoy it!! I'm in the process of researching / building / buying some type of cart. Most seem to big. I wanted something I could knock down to also take into the house. I keep this saw in the garage.

Looke at the Harbor Freight miter saw cart last night. For $89.00 it has more features than the $150 stands I looked at, and not as GIGANTIC as the $250.00 stands.

      The search goes on.......

I too bought this saw about a month ago when the BORG in my area had it @ $399. I was fortunate enough to be able to use a HF 15% coupon so that knocked another $60 off the price. That kind of lessened the sting of missing out on a Lowe's clearance on the Hitachi 10" sliders for $249. Mine is still in the box though.

340.00 for the Makita is a great price! I got one of the Lowes Hitachi 10 sliders for 210.00, but would have jumped on the Makita for 340.00 in a heartbeat. At the time I even had a 200.00 gift card to HD, and was watching their price...go up. Oh well, either one are good machines. I just liked the size of the base on the Makita better. Make your best deal and make some dust! Jim.

I bought mine a week ago. It's a fine saw and I have been using it quite a bit the last few days. I never realized how handy the laser is, particularly when you are trying to match a particular angle. Just rotate the base until the laser lines up with the pencil line, tighten her down and make the cut.
I found the laser to be very accurate.
I paid $545. Of course this is Canada, eh!

PS. The saw was reviewed in Woodworkers Journal a few months ago, along with about five other makes and came in second
to the Festool. Of course it costs $1300.

Yes, this post is being revived almost a year later... Saw it at two MD stores, Home Depot has this yellow tagged to $399 again (from $529 sticker). B&M only, as homedepot.com still shows $499. YMMV. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...THDStoreFinder

Saw two boxes (unopened) and a display model at Hyattsville. Can't remember the first stop.. close to that area... just call the stores close to your side, as they are being cleared out for new models. Good luck!
