    HF 23g Pin Nailer

Bought this unit today (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=97526) - appears to be normally ~$25, but in my local store today, it rang up at $15. Not sure if this is local only, or how long it will last.

Tried it out with 3/4in pins, works great.

WARNING: This model has no tip safety - there's a manual trigger safety. I test-fired a pin from about 1in above particle board, and over half the pin entered - needed pliers to pull it out.

The lack of a safety tip is the only downside of this pinner that I have been able to find so far. To date, I've been very happy with mine.

I have one too, and haven't had such good luck. I think my problem was the cheap HF pins.

The gun teased me, worked sometimes, didn't work, but when it did it was very handy so I broke down and picked up the Cadex. I can honestly say the Cadex is the nicest gun I own. The quality is really amazing.

I've had the HF version as well. Bought it about a year ago, maybe a little less. Yes it works really well! I used to build furniture for a commercial company and we had a couple of 23g nailers, they worked well. That's what gave me the idea I needed one, but I wasn't willing to spend the $90 to get one. I think I spent maybe $20 at HF. In fact all my nailers are HF, some of them at least 6 years old and no problems with any of them. I have one complaint about a 2-1/2" nailer, the nose is really wide. You can't get a nail into a tight corner. They may have a newer model out that has a skinnier nose. I haven't looked.
