    Delta dust collector

Not sure if all Lowes are selling off the current model AP400, one hp. dust collector at 99.00 but picked one up in Toledo for that price. Is a a killer deal, and they took 10% more off for display model. New model that is one hp. was about 250.00, had a nicer felt bag but can pick one up on the aftermarket easily.

Did you get the old style with the open area where the hose goes or the new style where they've got some stylish sheetmetal over that area? I know my local store has a bunch of the ones with the sheetmetal cover with a $250 sign on the display model, I guess I should have them check the price in the computer.

Lowe's here in the Mooresville, NC area has been selling the AP400 for $98. clearnce for around a month now. That's when I bought one. This is the one with the open bottom. Great deal but around here they are pretty well all long gone.

I've been driving to every Lowes in Hampton Roads, VA, looking for one of these. They seem to be sold out everywhere, and I can't seem to buy one from the Lowes website.

Does anyone know if an individual Lowes store with one will ship? How do I find one? Thanks a million.

Most Lowes stores can look up the stock from every other store in their regional area, at least they can for all the stores in metro Phoenix.

                Thanks, poolhound!

I went to my closest Lowes (Norfolk, VA), and they didn't have one but they found one unit in Chesapeake, VA. I went to that store. The unit was marked at $ 106. I presented them a receipt I found (on another woodworking site) for an AP400 in their Las Vegas, NV store, for $ 45. They wouldn't honor the Las Vegas receipt, saying that it "had to be from our region". I talked to a manager who wouldn't budge. I figured that $ 106 is a real good price for this unit anyway of course, so I bought it at that price.

Then I went to a bankrupcy auction for a cabinet shop in our area and bought a Delta 14" band saw for $ 225.

Good deals today! Thanks for your suggestion.

Glad I could help. I learned a long time back that a phone call saves a lot of gas. at $4 a gallon driving around town to 5 different stores can soon eat up any savings you may make - especially in my truck!!

i bought the last one in Santa Clarita, Ca for 80.00. It was on clearance. Kitchen faucets and light fixtures are also on clearance. The faucet and lights were off topic but thought this might be helpful for the other members.

That's for sure! I checked the Lowes database online to see if the AP400 was in any of the local stores, and it didn't show up. I had it in my head that if I called, I'd just be told nobody had them (because that's what the website said), and that I'd better drive around and look in the clearance sections for myself.

I better stop thinking so hard and just use common sense! Heh..

I love this forum. Thanks to drunkcat, I was on a road trip from MN to MI and stopped into the Elgin, IL Lowes and found the dust collector for $45.

By the way, I also stopped in to the Rogers, MN store yesterday afternoon. They had the display model only for $107.

Can anyone give me the Lowe's item number for the dust collector? It should (?) be on your receipt if you bought one. I'd like to call and see if any of the stores in my area have one. Thanks.

There is a risk - if you call, the employee checking the item will see the closeout price. They may decide they want the item, tell you they don't have it, and buy it for themselves.

Lowe's is particularly bad for this in my experience. I wondered if this was happening, so I tried calling from the store, while I had the item in sight. I was told they didn't have any, completed the call, and was loading it on my cart (after being told they didn't have any) when the employee came over and told me it was sold and I couldn't buy it. Had to talk to the manager before the employee admitted what was going on and I was allowed to buy it.
