    Tenryu 25540

I just responded to a local CL listing for a guy who is closing his shop and leaving the country. I picked up a bunch of good stuff (more in another post) but he had some blades for sale.

I picked up the Tenryu 25540 for $30 but he does have another. This is a top performing blade which some say (including him) are better than the WW II which he also has.

If one of you guys wants it I would happily go back and get it for you. At a guess shipping to most places in US should be around $10. WIth shipping its not as much of a deal but this blade usually sells for around $90.

    PM or email me.

Hi Jon - I just want to clarify that Tenryu has at least two 10" blades with model numbers ending in 25540, but the prefixes are different. One is the renowned Gold Medal "GM"25540 that's similar in design and performance to the WWII, and the other that I'm aware of is the value oriented "RS"25540 that Holbren sells for ~ $27 with the "BT310" discount code. A Gold Medal GM25540 for $30 would be a steal, and I personally would be very interested in landing one if it's new if you're willing to grab one for me....let me know and we can work out details.

    Thanks,
    Scott

      Scott,

They are definatley the Gold Medal model this guy seemed to mostly have higher end stuff, he also has a WWII. Do let me clarify they are used not new. The one I got looks in good condition It should be even better when I give it a light clean. I would say its in better shape than my BT standard blade.

I was looking for a higher end blade anyway and given the amount of use it gets from me $30 for a $100 blade sounded like a good deal to me - even used.

I had a Gold Medal here for a while, but a friend needed a good blade and the GM fit the bill so I let it go....but wish I hadn't! Anyway, enjoy!

I will give it a clean up and test it out at the weekend.
