The stores in our area are starting somewhat randomly to clearance out certain tools. (Random because two stores within 15 miles of each other have different prices - and clearance indications- on different tools.) For example, the Makita hypoid saw has dropped to $118, the milwaukee circular saw to $125 (still cheaper at HD), milwaukee close quarter drill has dropped around $20 bucks lower, and the Bosch 18v brute drill in some stores has dropped to $203 vs $240. I was told by aprons that they are getting rid of alot or all makita and milwaukee (now a HD exclusive - from a borg standpoint) and replacing with new chinese Porter cable. Can't confirm. Many of the items seem to be YMMV and clearance started last Thurs. Curious if folks in the South or West are seeing the same thing.

I assume the Milwaukee circ saw is the 6390, not the 6394? The 6394 (same saw with a brake) is not sold at all in NY hd's, or at least I've never seen it (I've been looking). The stores in our area are starting somewhat randomly to clearance out certain tools. Only reason I ask is that the 6390 is $129 everywhere, so $125 ain't much of a break. I'm hoping you'll tell me it's the 6394, so I can go trade in the 6390 I just bought but haven't opened yet :-)!You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice. -
Herb, I will check when I am in over the weekend...the particular saw had been $139 in my area. They have taken it off the Lowes website. Most of the clearance $ weren't great yet...there's some magic number of weeks that have to go by before a large drop, although in one of the local stores they are already getting rid of display models - a guy came in and bought everything up...so must have been a deal.I assume the Milwaukee circ saw is the 6390, not the 6394? Don't know why they are dropping that bosch 18v drill..but if it goes low enough, will be worth it just to supplement my batteries.Comment

Bummer...it is the 6390-21 version...no brake and cheaper at HD. I bought a dewalt with a brake that I like a lot. Sears actually sold that model milwaukee for about 150 which always surprised me.Comment

dewalt 8 1/2" sliding compound miter saw
This ties into a post on the ridgid site...from a month ago but may be worth checking a store near you just in case. Lowes has cleared out the dewalt dw712 scms...from $369 to $240 (and lower). Depending on store...the warrington pa store has the floor model left (today, may 13). The boxed version rang up at $119.20 and i would guess the floor model would be cheaper. As of this afternoon there was one left.Comment

Milwaukee tools
I was in a local Lowes last nite and the tool mgr said that Home Depot had purchased Milwaukee (is that correct?) and Lowes could not purchase the Milwaukee brand tools any longer. If this is true the discounts will eventually get bigger than 10%.
