Got it today

Three "included" blades were missing.
Called them up today-no problem, they are sending me a 5 pack and gave me a choice between two types.
I decided to order order the two accessories while I was at it. He told me he would put them in the same package so I would not get billed for shipping.
I just got an email that they will be arriving by Fed Ex tomorrow!

Just got the 1587 Kit from ebay at $76... brand new.

Just paid for a BRAND NEW BOSCH 1587 AVS JIG SAW JIGSAW KIT 1587AVS that I got from ebay last night. Paid $76 for it plus another $16 for shipping.
Will let you know how I like it once I receive it.

Maybe you can help me decipher something.

SENT TO BOSCH FOR THIS INFO 5 DAYS AGO, BUT SO FAR NO RESPONSE, SO THOUGHT I’D SEE IF ANYONE HERE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
MANUAL SAYS BLADE #’S T301CD, T101B, T101D, T101DP, PLUS OTHERS ARE THE ONES THAT USE THE ANTI-SPLINTER INSERT, AND GOES ON TO SAY THAT THIS INSERT WILL ONLY WORK WITH BLADES THAT HAVE GROUND SIDES.

HOWEVER, WHEN YOU GO TO THE CATALOG, IT SAYS THAT ALL OF THESE ARE ‘GROUND TEETH AND TAPER GROUND BACK’.

THE ONES THAT SAY THEY HAVE ‘GROUND SIDES’ (IT ACTUALLY SAYS ‘SIDES SET AND GROUND’) ARE 7 DIFFERENT BLADE NUMBERS.

SO, THE QUESTION IS, WHICH IS CORRECT, THE DESCRIPTION OF ‘GROUND SIDES’ OR THE NUMBERS OF THE BLADES STATED IN THE MANUAL WHICH CORRESPOND WITH THE DESIGNATION ‘GROUND TEETH AND TAPERED GROUND BACK’? ANYBODY UNDERSTAND THIS? UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T. (Sorry about the caps, I wasn't looking when I was typing!)

Ok, just got a response from Bosch saying ANY blades can be used with the anti-splinter insert. I can't imagine why they would bother to write differently in the manual, you really have to wonder sometimes. With very few exceptions, manuals are pathetic these days anyway, but it's usually because something was LEFT OUT, not unnecessary text PUT IN!

For all you fine folks who recently bought the bosch 1587 or 1590 and are looking for blades, the T500 assortment pack, which goes for $9.00 each at Lowes, can be had through Amazon seller for $2.99. I just got 2 packs, with about $1.00 for shipping for a total of $7.00.

I used my 1590 again this weekend and i LOVE this tool. I had previously shunned away from jigsaws as a PITA. No I know what one is supposed to be like this is a joy to use.
