Nope, no experience with this. A quick search revealed that there is a 50" version http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96878

There is also an identical 24" for which you can pay an extra $3 over the one you posted. Go figger. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96848

      clamps

looks like you pay $3 more for the logo and the ruler inch markings HA HA

Pursuing the logo further leads to this clamp as suspiciously similar

Must be some kind of close out or discontinued model

I bought one of the clamps at the local HF store. The HF clamp is the CL-24 (Contractor Lite) model shown on the eemersontool.com site. It is a "striped down" version of their other clamps and the extrusion does not have the T slot on the top. Therefore you can't use any of the clamping attachments available for other similiar manufactured clamps. Having said that it has the three position clamping force handle, seems to perform well and being lighter may fit in for site work.

I picked up the 50" one from Rockler. It is an awesome tool especially for using as a guide fence for a circular saw or router. Was pretty surprised to see them in my local HF.

It is a top quality tool. I don't think HF has anything to do with these other than selling them in their stores and online.

A key feature of these clamps is that they do lock down at a 90° angle. One of the uses of my 24" is as a guide for my router when I'm routing out dado's for shelves. I also use it and the 50" versions as a straight edge guide for my circular saw.

                  question to Grey Guy

Is the clamp you bought at HF different from the photos in the HF links above?
It shows the t-track and mentions in the text.

Not with the standard jaws they don't. I have the 50" and it will lock down quite a ways from 90*, especially on soft wood. Careful measurement and placement is still required.

You should be able to find quite a few threads about these in the archives.

The 24" clamp was as shown in the HF link posted by JR except no ruler. There is no T track at the top. The two slots at the side of the clamp extrusion are not true T tracks with the outside profile triangular as opposed to rectangular. The clamping handle is as shown and does have the three clamping positions for increased clamping force.

Here is a photo of the clamp showing extrusion detail and the handle in downward 90 degree poition.
