    Looks like a good deal

If I did not have the TOL Bosch I would grab one of these.

I've had and used this jigsaw for years and it's definately a great buy at that price. For anyone wanting a very high quality jigsaw but not wanting to spend big bucks, this deal is one you shouldn't pass on.

          Not a fan

I had this saw and finally gave it away out of frustration. My complaints mostly center on the base: the first one I received had a warped base, which was replaced under warranty, but even then there was a significant drift so that it was not possible to run the saw along a straight edge. Also, the base is too small so the saw tips over backwards at the least provocation, especially with the dust collection attached. And if you don't use the dust collection, then sawdust obscures the cut line before you are 6" into the cut.
I replaced the Freud with the Milwaukee 6268-21 which I got for $160, and have been thoroughly pleased. It has 1) a larger, much more accurate base, 2) an integrated dust blower which clears the cut line, 3) an integrated LED light, and 4) a 5-yr warranty. Admittedly, $160 is a lot for a jig saw, but for (IMHO) the best jig saw out there? Life is too short to spend time getting mad at your tools.

two seperate threads running on same bargain. Love the price for a heavy duty saw. Name Brand (but not really a name brand for jig saws).\

On the other hand, too many bad reviews for inability to hold onto the blade (may be old reviews, maybe this was upgraded), and has a dust vacuum port rather than a dust blower, which is infinitely less useful for this particular type of saw.

I didn't need one to begin with, (i only have a cheapo B&D, but it hardly gets used) so I am going to exercise unusual restraint and not jump on this, even though it is a rare occasion that I get an opportunity to go in while something is still on.

Isn't this crazy that it was a gold box deal this morning at 69.95, and 12 hours later it is 49.95????
