Dewalt 6 piece xrp DC6PAKIA $499 plus get 1 free tool by mir

(As Jesse mentioned, the rebate states that the purchase must be made by January 31st, but the Home Depot had signs up in two different places but they didn't have any dates on them.)

Home Depot has the Dewalt 6 tool combo model number
DC6PAKIA for $499 plus get 1 additional tool free by mail in rebate. They had about 7 in stock.

I went across the street and Lowes had it for $629. I was thinking about getting a price match plus the additional 10% of the difference and was wondering if Lowes and/or Home Depot would let you use a 10% coupon AFTER giving you a pricematch?

Has anybody ever attempted to do this before and does anybody have any thoughts on the quality of this set?

By the way, these are the xrp batteries and a sign in the tool section states that these kits now include the recip. saw that allows you to mount the blade 4 different ways.

    Thanks,
    Mike

you might double check the rebate, but i think the last day for purchase was 1/31/08 to get a free tool, unless it was extended

I have the 6pakra which is the same thing with a right angle driver instead of the impact driver. I've been very happy with it, the batteries hold a charge well, every tool is useful and does what it is supposed to. I managed to get my kit from lowes for $479 including the free handheld vacuum and a third battery.

My experience with HD and Lowes is that they won't let you use a 10% coupon on a price match. Of course you can try. I got the clerk at HD to try it once and a message came up on her screen reading " to many discounts " HD had these for $474 before Christmas and Lowes price matched it minus 10% and it came to around $425. I later got a 10% coupon from Lowes and bought one at HD for the same price of $425. Both had a tool rebate on them and the rebate forms at HD had an ending date of 01/31/08. HD has also taken the signs down about the rebate. I don't remember the ending date on the Lowes rebate. It is a great price on a nice set of tools.
