    Lowes VS Home Depot

Last Veterans Day weekend, Lowes ran an add offering a 10% discount to all Veterans. I wanted to buy something at Home Depot, that Lowes didn't carry, so I called them up and mentioned the 10% Veterans Discount offered by Lowes and asked if they would match it. The operator told me that HD offers it 365 day a year. Since then, I always make sure to ask for it.
Recently I was in Lowes- long after Vet Day and asked about a 10% Vet Discount. I was told that they only do that on special days (Vet Day). I asked to speak to the manager and told them about HD's policy. He called HD to verify, and said they would give it to me.
HD's cash register system is programed for the Vet D. and it will show on your receipt, while Lowes system doesn't have it and will just print the price (reduced).
So if you have the two stores in the same town and are a Vet, play HD against Lowes and get your discount.

    My thoughts.....

It should be part of every stores system.

10% is a small price to pay for freedom.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Was not aware of that, Annunaki. And of course I'm going to ask.. what does the annunaki mean. I given deep thought and even consulted my "Captain America secret de-coder ring".. but I still keep "running on empty" and that's a fact. ha.. ha... ha,ha,ha

What do I need to show them to get the discount?

Thanks for the tip. I just dropped $250 on doors last week! An extra $25 of would have been nice!

For me, my retired ID. Dig out your DD-214 and put a copy in the glovebox.

I just joined yesterday. Stumbled upon this site and glad I did.

Handle "Annunaki" comes from some books I've read about the ancient Sumerians, by author Sitchen.com. It translates "Those who from the Heavens came down to Earth." Sumerians gave us Base 60 in math instead of base 10 or base 12. Base 10 only divides by 1,2,5,10. Base 12 gets better 1.2,3,4,6,12. Oh but Base 60 WOW-1,2,3,4,5,6,10,15,20,30,60.
This is why our time is based on 60sec=1 minute, 60 minutes=1 hour.
Also this is why a circle has 360 degrees. Sumerians did a lot more, but take no credit for it all, claiming that the Annunaki taught them.

I show them my VA card (Health ID Card) but you could have a wallet size copy of DD214, Honorable Discharge,or anything else that shows you are a Vet.

I use the VA Health Care system here in Lake City, Florida. and they bill my Blue Cross/ Blue Shield and GHI. Meds cost me $8.00.

I called the local HD to inquire about Veterans discount. They said they offer the discount for a week (on Veterans day). The discount is 365 days for active military/veterans.

It may be that it varies from store to store at the managers discretion.
