    Interior doors

    HD has the Steves brand indoor 6 panel slab doors on sale for $19 each, any size. These are not mortised for hinges or drilled for knobs. Sale ends Wed, 1-23.

    Have any of you successfully stained such a door? I'm assuming that it would have to be painted with and appropriate backround color and then, stippled or dry-brushed with the stain.

      I attempted to stain a door just like that. the instructions said to use gel stain only. it looked terrible so I just painted it.

        Never tried. The trim around the glass on the french doors and both the front and end doors are embossed wood grain. Going to be up to the wife to figure out how to make them look right.
