    Powermatic 1660795K Model 66 10-Inch Left Tilt 5 HP 50 inch Accu Fence $1999

OK. This is the link. Can't figure this one out as the picture shows a 30 inch fence but the listing and description say 50 inch and it supposedly has a table board and is 74 inches in total width. Seems like a steal if it is what they say.

I saw this last night at FW. Shipping is $150. Not bad since most other retailers are selling it for around $3200.

The pic and description on FW indicate a sliding table and the amazon reviewers too. Not sure if that has the slider which if it did would be a great deal.

        True Retail Price

Is that the true retail price, I couldn't find anyone else who sales this model Powermatic 1660795K. I'd really like to buy it but I'm not sure if I'm saving $500 or $4000. Anyway my wife would kill me if I bought it.

Just imagine the incredible shops we could have if the wives weren't in the way. Of course, then we'd probably be living out of our cars.

It seems this is a discontinued model that is supposed to have the Excalibur sliding table. See http://pros.servicemagic.com/product...-1660795K.html

            The closest currently available Powermatic 66 is the 1660791K which is a 5HP 1Ph 230V, w/50" Accu-Fence System saw. See http://www.powermatic.com/Products.aspx?Part=1660791K.

If these pieces of evidence are true then the saw on Amazon is a 1660791K with a sliding table for a lot less than the 1660791K alone.

That's the best I can come up with. Guys (and gals) if this is true this is one very special offer. The other 5 HP PM66 Amazon has (it's 3 phase not single phase like this one) is $2,799.

              It has the sliding table

One more piece of info. The following page lists this saw as having a sliding table. Scroll down to see the table listing the various ways a PM66 was (is?) available.

WITH the sliding table?!?!?!?!?! Oh man, that is one nice saw!

OK, so I know you guys have mentioned in the past a way to lock in an amazon price for a few days while you decide on the purchase. How do you do that again?

I believe you use the pay by check option. That gives time (they are waiting for your check) to make your final decision.

I am not sure if the lack of the rifing knife like on the PM2K is a major consideration and the guard is better too. I like the made in USA, but I am OK w. Taiwain produced products. The Classic Cab. saw and a great deal if you want to spend that much. I do think the rifing knife is a much better design than the standard splitter . The slider is a space problem for me , no mobile base could be used as far as I know and a left tilt is odd with a SMT.
