What's better sharpening system: Jet or Tiger?

With those two hot prices on the 2 systems on Amazon mentioned in thread here. which in your opinions, is the better tool for sharpening? Any positives or negatives on either? Too good a price to pass....Thanks

Well, for $118 shipped - I went ahead and got the Tiger unit.

Here's a link from a comparison thread on Sawmill creek:
    http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=29214

I've actually never heard many complaints about it, even when it was selling for $249 or so when it first came out. Most folks were just saying it's not as good as the Tormek, but nobody disputes the quality of the Tormek, and at $118, I'm thinking it's a no brainer.

Plus - it is made in Germany, while I'd imagine the Jet is made in China, and I have heard a few complaints about the Jet unit.

Even though the Jet is at a crazy low of $167 - that's still $50 more than the tiger, so that's how I decided.

I speak from no authority though, my only experience has been from owning a Delta unit with a flat wet wheel and a 2" white slow speed grinding wheel. That was about $175 or so, and it's ok, but my unit took a fall to the floor so it's out of commision anyways.

I ordered the tiger this morning and it shipped out early today.

I have the Jet and I really like it. No complaints with that unit (except that I spent $230 for it last spring and it's now going for $167.) That's a great deal -- I can't imagine not jumping on it.

Also just went with the Jet. Here was a good review here:
        http://www.newwoodworker.com/reviews/index.html
scroll down for the sharpener reviews, a ton of good info and video clips. I believe that the 2 star reviews on the Jet at amazon look awfully suspiciously pro Tmek.

Jet includes: Has larger wheel, accepts T-brand planer jig, includes dressing stone grader, includes drawer base, etc.. Also amazon had the 4 for 3 on accessories and 20% off accessory of choice. And Amazon has Jet jigs where it did not look like there were any for the Tiger at least not on amazon. Shipping free on all too.

I'm sure the Tiger would be fine but lack of accessories on amazon did not help.

Throw the HF version in the pot to stir around. It has had some favorable comments, too, and sells for $99.
