saw this at HD today. Thought it would be a sweet deal if you used a 10% off moving coupon. the tools don't appear to be Max Select.

    Included:

(all tools are 18V except the 9.6V pivoting screwdriver)

    Jigsaw
    Caulk gun
    pivoting screwdriver
    1.5" drill
    friggin bag and flashlight
    impact driver
    circ saw
    recip saw
Two 18V and one 9.6V battery plus rapid charger (don't know if they're the Max HC batts)

    Home Depot's SKU is: 660 827

Jigsaw, caulk gun, friggin bag/flashlight and possibly circular saw would not see a lot of action in my shop. The jig saw is not likely all that great. I guess I just don't have that big of a problem with cords since I am not a contractor.

there’s a Ridgid 18 Volt combo kit fro $299 at Cummins Tools that includes a Ridgid impact driver, hammer drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw and worklight. It’s a great price just doesn’t have a Jigsaw, Caulk gun, or pivoting screwdriver

Most of the time, those big kits have one or more tools (usually more) that you would never use. Better to get a smaller kit, and add a tool or two, then you will have the ones you really want, rather than wasting money on those you don't.

I own this Ridgid set (minus impact drill) and love it. Usually Reconditioned tools don't come with the same manufacturer warranty though (if that's important to you). If so, you want to find out about the Ridgid "Lifetime Service Agreement". Does this service Service Agreement come with it?

The Ridgid LSA is for all power tools and says: "lifetime of free replacement batteries, free service and free replacement parts subject to the limitations...". Most Ridgid owners love it for the free battery replacement. Whenever a battery dies, which seems to happen more often than we wish on portable power tools, a Ridgid repair center will fix it or get you a new one....for life.

Personally I would wait until Christmas and see what sales are going on. Usually the manufactures/retailers want to get rid of inventory.
What if there is no tomorrow?....there wasn't one today!
