combine with some of the "4 for 3" promotinal Mirka sanding discs, and an additional 20% off one of them, for purchasing a power tool.....great deal

I ordered it plus several packages of sanding discs. Should arrive mid next week. $93 and change, plus there was a 4 for 3 savings of almost $16 and a shipping saving of $4.53.
            Amzing price for that sander.
I got prices from 2 so called Bosch dealers in Toronto here, they wanted $235 Canadian. Another example of how we are getting shafted in Canada on many items.

That thing should leave an ultra fine finish. The stroke is about 1.9844 mm which is very, very fine. Note that this will not be an aggressive sander.

My sander addiction runs deep. I am sweating this one. If only it had 8 hole pattern instead of 6! Hmmmmm wonder if there is a conversion pad out there?

Thanks guys. So much for my 6" 8 hole standard in my shop!

4 for 3 pushed me over the edge.

Now for the heads up against the Festool ETS 150/3!

                  Ok, a couple of things . . .

First, I am a sanderholic. My sander addition seems to be worse than router addiction.

Second, 5 minutes with this thing indicates that the Festool ETS 150/3 v. Bosch 3727DEVS face off is gonna be a real slug feast! I am going to do way too much research and testing between the two and put a nice article up on the comparison once I find a nerd with a magnifying mechanism that has a digital camera. The two look very similar, are similar in weight, both seem excellent in dust collection. The Bosch has a little bit of a "wild streak" to it as it jumped around a little but I got that worked out with VS. I had the Bosch loaded with Mirka Gold and the Festool loaded with Norton 3X. I am going to get a few sheets of Norton 3x for the Bosch (different hole patterns) to make this test more official. I may try the lexan scratch test like FWW did.

I really want to see how a $84 sander compares to a $260 sander. Granted the $84 sander is now up to $150 again. But I can tell ya that I am already wishing I had another Bosch!

Come out and say it... Is the Bosch sander as good as the Festool? Fine Woodworking would agree based on their comparisons.

In conclusive at this point. Only spent a few minutes with it. I love the three 1295s that FWW awarded as best 5" ROS however these 6" ROS are a world of difference in quality and ability. I want to give them a fair shake. My guess is that the finish is going to be indistiguishible with the naked eye. Vibration was close with edge to Festool. DC looked to be about the same. I did note that due to the odd prongs on the Bosch it would not trigger my Festool Vac. My Bosch routers, other Bosch ROS all trigger it so I am not sure what all that is about. I want to get equal paper, equal wood and give it a quasi scientific test.

Have you, or anyone else, received their Bosch sander yet? I wanted to get a user or two to give me their opinon on the operation. I find that this Bosch sander is very hard to control. It's like the paper grabs and jerks the sander a few inches. Anyone else experiencing that? Wondering if it could be the pad after reading someone elses recent experience with their 5" Bosch sander.

Hmmmm, light bulb over head moment. Wonder if the suction from the Festool vac is too strong and its sucking the ROS to the wood causing it to jerk? I have heard of problems like that thus the VS control on the vac. I will try sander with lowest vac setting.
