    WW Hardware Discounts

Hello everyone. I have a brother-in-law that is starting a new hardware website. His supplier will be the same as the supplier for woodworkers hardware. As of right now, he's offering a 5% discount from wwhardware. If anyone is in the market for hardware, blades, bits, etc, I'd be happy to help you get the discount. He uses the same parts number as ww's so if you want to shop online there you can get an idea of the prices.

If this kind of post is in the wrong discussion, or inappropriate I'll gladly take it down or have it deleted.

    Thanks!

Considering this is a relative then yeah I'd say this post is SPAM.

Ummm, I am not so sure - he's been up-front about that relationship, and he's been around here for a decent time with other regular posts, so I'd guess this just another bargain alert, or if you like, a member-classifed-bargain-alert .

It all depends on how good the deals are.

Nothing wrong with letting us know a relative is in the bizz... If we save money, then it's win-win.

Not SPAM - sounds like a good bargain. Does he have a website?
            Thanks:

Well, if he just posted "This new site/business is offering a 5% discount...." and never said it was his brother-in-law's site/ business , then it would not be SPAM? I don't see an issue, and consider it a nice bargain post, ....provided its not a scam and he eats our credit cards...

Thanks for the interest guys. I'm posting here for two reasons, to help my BIL get his business going, and to give back to a site that has been great to me for a long time. I've sure appreciated all the great advice and tips that I've gotten here, and all the help that you all have given.

My BIL does have a website, it's http://www.hardwareamericaonline.com as of right now the only thing that is up there is an 800 number that you can call and ask questions. He's in the process of mapping the products over and setting up the other online systems. Because of the expense of hiring a programer, it's taking longer than he thought it would.

I have been around long enough to know that these kind of posts can be seen as scams, and I was pretty reluctant to just throw out a discount without an explanation, so I'm giving you all full disclosure here. The discounts over wwhardware may be more than 5%, depending on the shipping costs, but he's said he'll guarantee at LEAST 5% off of ww's - shipped. If anyone is interested in exact prices, just let me know what the part numbers are (from ww's) and your zip code and I'll get prices for you.

I'll take any questions in either this open forum, or by pm. Thanks.

Can anything good come from St. Cloud?

Sorry Ishmel - I am originally from Spicer - near Wilmer, MN. Always good to see someone from the old neighborhood, so to speak.

Let us know when the website is up and loaded. If I am going to buy, I'd just as soon the money go to someone I've got some connection to.

You might suggest to your BIL to take part in the (non-commercial) conversations here. That coupled with the occasional BT3 Member Only Special can generate some good will.

You're right about few good things coming out of St. Cloud.... except for Hockey I suppose, and St. John's football.

Thanks for the great input. I'll definitely post when the website is fully functional. In the meantime, if anyone is shopping, let me know how I can help. I'm happy to quote prices on anything you might need.

                    Thanks again.

When he gets going, besides members-only specials a BT discount code might also be a good idea. Lord knows how much Hartville's woodnet specials and discount code have boosted that business.

Thanks for the good tips guys. I showed him this thread and he's decided to try running a BT3 only special. I thought maybe drawer slides would be a good product to run so I'll post a bargin alert with the prices and shipping in another thread.
