I thought about bolting 4 of these things together and making a big top to turn them into a mobile assembly table, but there are only 2 of them in the whole county...

I'm attempting to call local stores, rather then wild goose chase my way across a 30 mile radius, to see if they are in stock and the website numbers apparently are no help to the in-store employees.
Yeah- I'm not a big fan of running to 2 or 3 stores to find out that no one in the state has them in stock...

Just bought one at the Sears in Burlington, NC for $35.00. They had one on display with the other toolboxes. This one was not assembled, but did have all the hardware in the drawers. The only price shown on the unit was $139.99. I asked the manager and an assistant to look up the price and they were surprised that it came up at $35.00. They said they had "some" in the back, so I got one that was in a box. I don't know how many they have, but the display unit is still there.

well, when someone gets this set up and puts a piece of equipment on it and takes it for a test drive, please post your thoughts. i was looking on line at sears link and the the one with the solid steel top is a much heavier duty than this one. the reviews rate it half way, so let see what a bt3er thinks after test driving it

              thanks!

One of the first things I did here was to check the price at the local Sears. They still have it as $139.99. I was actually thinking about returning one to Sears for a $139.99 store credit Is the Sears in Burlington a regular Sears department store or is it a smaller "retail outlet?" It seems strange that different Sears stores would have different prices in the computer. Can you post a copy of your receipt?

It might have been faster to drive...but I just called all our local kmarts and none of them had any in stock. They don't seem to have an electronic inventory system...so at each store they had to send out a body to look. I'm not sure I'm 100% positive there really isn't one hiding out in the open there. I really don't have time to be driving around to check...but those would be perfect for a few applications I have in mind.......

Sorry, I meant to say K-Mart - both stores are within a mile from each other in Burlington - my mistake.

Local KMarts (2) didn't have any...

Just got back from my "friendly Sears store" NOT NOT!!!! Showed the K_Mart add to the manager and he promptly stated "We don't match K-Marts Clearance price's" What the .....!!!!!!?????

Drove to Raleigh, NC store. They didn't have any. While checking, the manager ran into another manager from another Raleigh store. His response...Ya we have about three of them at our Six Forks store, but they are priced at $70 each. The internet price is offered before the shipping charge. Go figure!!!!??????

Every response I got from a K-Mart employee was " That's a real deal!" when I showed them the K-Mart online ad!

                      Oh well..................

The two I purchased were priced at $70 according to the clearance sign above them. I got the same story about not matching internet prices, shipping, blah, blah, blah. Then I asked the lady at customer service to check the price based off the UPC number on the tag and it rang up as $35. I wouldn't be discouraged by the $70 statement.

Review from one buyer on the Sears website, not me.

"I have purchased other Craftsman rolling cabinets in the past. I always look for the items on sale and have been mostly satisfied with the products. This one will do for my needs, yet I am aware of the thinner metals used in this cabinet. Like many other steel products, this one is just rigid enough to keep it from collapsing.
The drawers are not very smooth. I wouldn't recomend this one for alot of moving around. I loaded it with tools that I don't use often lessening the need to open it as much.
The plastic handles are a joke. Don't try to pull it too quickly or they will pull off. If I needed more strength in them I would replace them with a large metal handle secured to ??????
I rate this cabinets value at no more than $50.00

I made a half lapped frame from scrap 2x4s, screwed that to a piece of MDF and, once I've bought some more screws, will screw the frame to the cabinet. It seems pretty solid now, even with my nearly 100 lb planer on it.

The K-Mart in Willow Grove, PA has some left, including the display model. They ring up at $35. I just picked on up, I haven't gotten it out of the box yet, so I'll post what I think about it, but you Philly area guys may want to visit the store. It is on Moreland Ave (PA 63) in Willow Grove, just north of Easton Road.

                                Have fun!
