Anyone use these? I could be mistaken but I seem to recall a thread about these with the general consensus being that they weren't very good. But, like I said, I could be mistaken.

If they are OK, I think I'll pick up a couple.

i have the 12" version and i find them awkward to use because of the size of the handles. other than that they clamp ok. i prefer the irwin version.

I really like them and can only recall positves comments for the most part when discussed here.

However, the ones posted by Uncle Hook that are on sale are not like the 12" ones that many of us are so fond of. There are two versions of the 6" clamps with the ones on sale, while being identical in design, are smaller and lighter than the ones I had hoped for.

6" bar clamp on sale in circular for 50% off. Smaller and lighter but may suit you fine.

6" bar clamp not in circular but also on sale for 23.53% off. Replicates the girth of the popular 12" model that always goes 50% off.

        Hope this helps,
        Greg

          craftsman bar clamps

Those cheap clamps are a lot like the cheap ones they resemble from HF.
They ain't worth the effort to take them home. I had a couple of the HF ones, squeezed them too tight, and the housing shattered in my hand.

the ones from sears are not even close to the garbage HF sells.

the craftsman clamps are pretty darn good IMO. i prefer them over the irwins.

I've actually had great success with the cheapo HF's too.
