Crafstsman 22114 - BEWARE: Different prices online vs store

The Craftsman 22114 TS normal sticker price is $729 without any sale. There are 2 different pricing scenarios happening right now:

Store: I went into a Sears BM today and the 3 day sale with 20% off $729 shows $583. That is their final price before taxes. I had the dept manager confirm this.

Online: I go online and the $729 price is also slashed down 20% to $583 like the store price. But when you put the TS in your cart, the sale price of $583 gets reduced another 20% to $467.

I went to a different Sear BM to verify what was going on. Both stores final price is $583 and the manager said the BM price is always the same (if not cheaper w/ clearance items) than the web. But the web still subtracts another 20%.

Therefore, the web must be discouting the 22114 an exta 20% by accident. Thats another $116 savings.

So take advantage of this WEB deal if your in the market for a 22114 TS. I just hope they don't pull an Amazon and find out their mistake and cancel the order.

PS, the 10% Craftsman club sale doesn't start until Sunday when this 3 day sale is over.
What if there is no tomorrow?....there wasn't one today!

Nahhh. Price is probably around cost. They have been that low before.

Since you can ask to pick up the saw with a web purchase rather than have it delivered, seems you could find out real quickly if the price is for real if you wanted one. Would save the delivery cost as well.

        I’m going to upgrade from a BT3100.
How does the Craftsman 22114 stack up against the Ridgid TS3650?

        Thanks, JR

Better dust collection, internal motor that only really makes a difference here if you put it on a mobile base to move it, or have a tight spot to work around it. (as another poster, otherwise you still have to outfeed).

I can't comment on power or if the Ridgid has table or base mounted trunnions...

          Anyone, anyone

Both are typically well liked and should do a nice job for you. Which one you like best is subjective. They're close enough that blade choice and alignment pretty much determine final performance. The rest boils down to preference of features and "feel". Things like motor power (22114 is 15 amp/3650 is 13amp), cut quality, build quality, power requirements, and table size are about the same. The hybrid is a more modern design that has some advantages over the old contractor saw design with an outboard motor, which offers no advantage over an internal motor unless you need to remove it often. The 22114 has better dust collection, takes up less space front to back, has more mass (385# vs 287#), the trunnions are cabinet mounted vs table mounted, the internal motor provides a shorter drive belt for low vibration and better power transfer. The 3650 has a built in mobile base vs requiring an add on. It also has a wider stock rip capacity, but the rails can be moved farther to the right of either saw for more even more capacity if wanted. The 22114's miter gauge includes a fence and a hold down clamp.

The 22114 is available online with in-store pickup at a 36% discount for the next several hours ($467 rings up at final checkout vs $583 directly from the store...it'll be back closer to $700 soon, which typically puts it out of the $500 budget range and brings in other good choices). I believe this deal includes a rebate for a Leitz blade too. Sometimes you can get the 3650 down to near $500 with sales and discounts.

            Take a look underneath:

One more note -- if you buy online and have a Discover card, go through the Discover card store (it has a special link via www.discovercard.com). Link to the Sears store and get an extra 5% cash back on your monthly statement.

                About the blade rebate.

The way I read it, you get a blade from them worth $xx.xx, not like you get the extra $65 back from them, or could turn around and get the full price for the blade.

The extra online discount looks like the "extra sale" promo Sears has in the stores too: "buy $500-699, get an additional 15% off; buy $700-900, get an additional 20% off" type of thing. I noticed those signs in the store last night so I think the "online" price would actually happen in the stores too. At least through today.

I don't remember the actual numbers in the "buy $xxx-yyy" deals though; the numbers above are just an example/guess.

The Sears sale is 20% off $700 purchase (or less% off less amt. purchase), not an additional 20% after the initial.

I tried today to get my Craftsman Club discount even though the sale doesn't start until tomorrow. No way, but this tool sales rep rang up $583 total on his register. That's total after ALL savings.

Therefore it's a hidden web special or mistake.
