I've noticed it's a hybrid. Besides this, how does this Craftsman compare to the Delta 36-969 + the Bies fence (besides being $100 more)?
$467 is more than a 30% discount of the sale price of $693, and is a 36% discount off the inflated reg price of $730!
Both have solid CI wings, the stock fence on the 22114 has a nifty sliding indexer but is no Biesemeyer IMHO, but most owners seem to find it functional. The 22114's miter gauge is an average quality stock miter gauge with a nice fence and hold down included.
Roughly the same motor power and electrical requirements. The trunnion designs are substantially different. The 22114 has the same cabinet mounted trunnions as the 22124. They add alot of mass and are easier to adjust (weighs 385#) The internal motor has the same advantages mentioned in previous threads. I'd guess you'd have no trouble selling that stock 22114 fence for $50-$75 and replacing it with the $80 Biese, then you'd nearly have a 22124 for a grand total of $480!
OK, I have a dumb question. I noticed on the page for the saw that is says that if you use your sears card you can get 20% off on orders over $500 and 15% off orders over $400. Would they stack? If so they apply the 15% off to the $467 it would give a total of $397. I assume this is not the 72 hour sale part and that this stacks.

Dustmight answers the question well. I add that you would likely want to dump the fence on the saw and replace with Bies. I bought one of these saws for my Dad for Christmas and I really didn't like the fence.
That's what I was just going to post a question about in a new thread, and I still will. I just pulled the trigger on this saw and have a Lowes special Bies fence in my shop. Wondered if I should just put the Bies on instead? Can't wait to get started.

That got me curious and from what I can tell the $467 price already includes the 20% off for using a Sears card. The original price was $700+ and the 72 hour 20% off brought it down to $580+ and then another 20% off brings it down to the $467. At least that's what it looked like to me...

You mean take 20% off the original amount, and then because the resulting $467 is still over the $400 threshold, take off an additional 15% on the $467? No, they won't do that. This is the usual "the more you spend, the more you save" multi-tiered promotion:
Buy $275-$399 in tools and Save 10%, buy $400-$499 and save 15%, Buy over $500 and save 20%. Offer good through 08-Sep-2007
You're only making one purchase. In your case you'll already have qualified for the maximum discount, so the lesser ones become moot.
The Craftsman Club newsletter says "members save 10% on all Craftsman bench and power tools" (with a photo of a Table Saw underneath).
So maybe theres a chance you can save 10% off the $467 if your a member. Plus all stores offer you to sign up for a Sears credit card and first purchase is 10% off.
Can't hurt to try. I've noticed all stores do things differently.
What if there is no tomorrow?....there wasn't one today!
