GMC A3BPMAG 6 Amp 3-1/4-Inch Hand Held Planer $33.66 at Amazon

This has been steadily dropping for the last few weeks and is now near its all time low of $29.99. It may continue to drop, but I thought I'd post the deal now. You can always get a refund for 30 days from Amazon. I have this and it works great for the price and comes with two sets of blades and a nice case.

I learned something today about shopping at Amazon.com. When I was looking at the GMC hand held planer the reason the price changed from $33.66 to $31.98 was because it had become one of my Quick Picks and I would have had to buy the item within one hour or lose the discount. When I didn't buy it, the price reverted to $33.66

Much of the time, Amazon will refund the difference in price if it drops after you buy it: just use the help system to ask, referencing your order and pointing out the new price.

I like this planer better than my Bosch, thought it was a good buy at the $75 I paid for it last year, and am thinking about getting another at the low price (which is approaching the price of two spare sets of blades).

Another note on the blades: they are reversible to get twice the use. I found out somewhere that they are the same size as the ones the Bosch handheld planers use. Of course, this planer has three blades and the Bosches have two, so you'd need at least two sets of the Bosches (leaving one extra, so three sets of the Bosches makes better sense).

Also, you can use a small diamond hone/file to give the blades a touch-up hone without taking them out.
