Sears Craftsman Bosch Red Router Two Base System

A couple threads mentioned the Craftsman router combo kit number 926620 (Red unit made by Bosch) was on clearance for $80. I found a couple of them here in NC near my parents home. They were marked at $180.97, checked ring up and it was $150.97.

Have you folks been finding them ringing up at $80? Anyone have a receipt they could post?

I picked one up at a Sears Essentials tonight for $105. When I called they said they had 5 but there was only one on the shelf - could have been more in the storage room.

Bosch rebranded of course but it does come with something the Bosch doesn't (stock at least).. The above the table fine height adjustment doo-hickie.. Nice hard-case also..

I already have 4 other routers. Okay. I guess I am a routaholic. There, it's out now.

The Bosch does have the same above the table adjustment thing. Bosch changed their kit at the same time the Craftsman was changed to include this adjustment device. IMHO all above table adjustments included with routers are pretty worthless, but that just my opinion. Bosch has nice hard case that stores all accessories as well. Course I toss all the cases, but again that is just me!

I did not know that! (my best Johhny Carson impression) At the time when I bought my Craftsman, the above table adjustment was still an add-on for Bosch that you could buy. Must have been right after that Bosch started to include it. It's not the greatest thing but it got me through until I purchased a Jessem lift for it.

I paid nearly full price for mine (it was on sale) but I have had years of use from it and no regrets. Only problem I've had was keeping the switch clean but that wasn't a big deal really.

I tend to hold on to the hard cases because I seem to move often, they come in handy for that..

What this router really did for me was to take notice of the Craftsman "Professional" line of tools. Previously I'd scoff at most Craftsman power tools. But the "Pro" series are big name rebrands that are usually pretty nice tools. Like the zip code saw and this router.

When they clear them out, they discount them deeply to get stuff out of the store and you end up with a real bargan. Did you get one yet or are you waiting till it hits rock bottom price?

Waiting for the next price drop. I think the next one will be pretty decent. I have purchased full Bosch kits for $150 so that price range for the Craftsman isnt doing much for me. Dont get me wrong, its a good deal especially if it is your first, but when you start counting them on the second hand you start looking for real good deals! LOL!

I think it's a steal at $100 - you'll have a hard time finding a new VS Colt for that price.

I think it is a steal at $100 as well. I was talking about the $150 range which is where I picked up the Bosch 1617 before on a few occassions.

I appreciate the receipt and am actively trying to get price matched here in NC!

Sears in Torrance CA had shelf price listed "clearance" at $190
price check also same amount
I only saw the demo model (with cut cord) on store shelves but did not have them check stockroom

Tried finding it...stumped...no luck with id number Jeff listed. Can anyone point me to where they are hiding it on their website? Finally found the pro line but no router and their lovely site likes to re-route you if you click on "clearance or sale" ...perhaps they are updating their prices as i type this.
