HD Bench Tool Floor Model Clearance

I stopped in the HD in Carrollton, TX on Josey a couple of hours ago and they were doing a re-set of the bench tools. They had several floor models marked down 50% - including the DeWalt 735 Planer that I got for $274 (regular price is $549!). They also had the Ryobi Planer, a Ryobi drill press, 10" table saw with stand and a scroll saw. It was just the floor models, as it appears that HD is going to a store set where these are not typically displayed! From what was on the tag and what the MOD told me, these were just marked down this morning.

    Happy hunting!

YMMV. I just returned back from Naperville, IL store. No clearance there.

Must be nice. The clearance at my HD is a joke. They are clearancing display model cordless drills right now, at 20% off. For example, there is a Ridgid 18V that in box with 2 batteries, a charger, and a case is $249. They are taking 20% off of the $249, and all you get is the drill, no battereis, charger, or case. Wow, what a deal

Again, I have noticed as the others have, the OP's sightings are the exception and certainly not the rule. Out of the 3 local HD's that I frequent, I have seen ONE tool on clearance, and that was a Ryobi benchtop DP and it was only 10% off, and it was in pretty rough shape.

HD is still in my good graces, though. I was able to get my BT at $200, minus the $50 rebate, so I'm still WAY ahead on them--although the stories of the dumpster accessory kits REALLY irked me. I still need that darn miter table...

Not another BORG hunt! Dunno that I need any more BO tools, except maybe the DP.
