I didn't even look at the shipping price, so you're right $285 shipped. I should have paid attention to that.

Compared to the 50-760, is the only difference the motor mount and the manufacture supplied filter bag? They are both rated at 1.5HP and 1200 CFM. The 50-760 comes with a 1 micron bag, compared to 30 micron for the 50-850.

You'd definately want to upgrade that 30 micron bag to a better bag or cartridge filter!!

There appears to be an error in the amazon.com write-up. If you click on "See all Product Description," the Specifications section says five microns, not 30, and the "What's in the box" section lists a five micron bag. The Delta site also shows five microns.

However, the HF 2HP unit many of us have is currently on sale in the retail stores for $180, and the 80/20 blend Wynn cartridge that filters to 0.5 microns is $91. For a grand total of around $300 (i.e., including sales tax and shipping), I personally would choose that combination over this Delta, I think.
