    How do you...?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but how do you guys know when these Amazon sales are happening? Do you just browse the site every day or is there something that emails you price drops or something?

I would love to know, there is a bunch of stuff that I would love to buy, but can only afford when its on sale.

    As always, you guys rock!

I usually just browse the site for the things that I know I need. Example: I needed a couple of drill/drivers for a big project. Researched the various types and saw one brand that received high reviews. It periodically went on sale, normal price $85, sale price $35 with free shipping. A couple of times a week I would search Amazon for that tool and WaLa, there it was on sale again for $35. Took about 2 months but I didn't need it right away so I got what I wanted at the price point I wanted.

Same thing happened with a 3 1/2 hp router. Normal $199, got it for $118. There may be more sophisticated ways to do it, but works for me.

        Several things

Add them to your wish list and print it (central checking point)
Use Frozen Warrior and enter their item numbers for it to email you of a price drop
Check the today's deals link on Amazon's webpage, at least a couple times a day
Watch for posts in the bargin alerts in several places (forums), you'll find certain members seem to be the better/more frequent bargin hunters. Cheeky and Jeffrey Schronce seem to be the best/most prolific here.

And lastly, Luck never hurts either.

Add item to cart. Click "Save for later". Or just leave in your cart (just make sure you remember it's in there when you check out). Check your cart frequently. If there's a price change since you last added it to your cart there will be a message on top of the page.

I like to view the top sellers link at least a couple times a day which can also be done by category. Also today's deals and friday sales. Sometimes it is just blind luck when looking around at things.

I've looked at that top seller list before. I gotta say, if it is correct, boy does B&D have name recognition and selling power!

Edit: It is funny though how wwing forums can push sales on these lists. A few months ago during the big blade blow out about half of the top twenty was Hitachi and WWII blades.
