    delta 14" bandsaw 28-276

I am not sure if this should have been posted here or in tool talk, but since i was asking about a bargain, i have posted it here. if it should be moved, maybe one of the moderators can move it for me. - thanks

Has anyone bought the delta 14" band saw 28-276 at lowes at a clearance price? or has seen it at lowes at clearance?

    thanks

    omar,

you should go to lowes.com and check availability since the bs is still on their website.

go here and punch in your zip. you can always call to double check inventory and price, once you find out what locations have it.

btw, what's the clearance price (and if it's low enough, your post belongs here)

Not yet. I have been to 4 stores in chicagoland over the weekend and I did not see the bandsaw or the jointer on clearance yet. But the tool manager in 2 of the stores said it is coming soon. No specific dates though. Just have to keep checking every couple of days or so or better yet, find the item # and keep calling them for the price.

Not specifically. But mentioned that all Delta stuff is going away. I bought the SM300 bench drill press for 40$ and the unifence for 93$. They had some scroll saws and belt sanders in clearance. None of the shops had the delta contractor saw, the jointer, the big drill presses or the dust collector on clearance. Waiting for them.

I saw Hitachi benchtop drill press and hitachi belt sanders in the lowes. They also started carrying the new hitachi cabinet saw too. Looks like Hitachi and Taskforce are replacing Delta and Deltashopmaster respectively.

Not sure how valid this is but it seems like once the tool goes to a "non stock" status they remove it from their website. I've been waiting for the 16" drill press for a while now which unfortunately is still on the website.

so that means, we just need to keep an eye open for the deal to come and you may be right, ryan. that is another way to keep checking on the bandsaw.

              thanks everyone.

There is another way. Each time you go in to the store look at the sale tag. If you see a "N" under the barcode, then that item is "non-stock".

Sometime if you don't see the "N", just ask them to look it up on the computer. They have been known to not change the pricing label on the product.

Also, an item could be non-stock at one store and not another. Ask them to check other stores in the area to see if it is perhaps non-stock somewhere else.

                Good Luck,

                Bob
