Apparently you can use this thing to test lots of stuff. I don't know what and I don't know why. I am not getting one since I don't know what or why! LOL!

I picked up something similar from HF a while back for $3.00. I guess there are tons of uses for it but all I ever use it for is to see of an outlet or wires are live. Been shocked before thinking the breaker was turned off but now I make sure and double check.

In the shop I find that clamp on ammeter to be infinitely more useful than a simple volt/ohmmeter. For example, I can diagnose water heater issues in seconds.

I use my fluke every day, I have two on my bench as we speak. They really are handy, if you do any kind of electronics or work on vehicles, etc. for $12 I would definitely get one (or two), but it says craftsman on it, so I won't.

I have one of these and I use it quite a bit also. It isn't bad for the price. It won't do the type of work that a Fluke will, but for simple things like checking voltage, resistance or continuity it can't be beat for the price. I also have a few of the cheapo ones from HF and they aren't that bad either. They do their job.
