Anyone in the area interested in splitting some of those lumber and/or plywood piles?

I'm not opposed to the idea, if the price is right. It's a bit of a drive for me, but certainly not too bad. Lumber works better for me, I don't have a vehicle that can haul the plywood in full sheets.

Looks like that 8" jointer isn't getting too much interest, with the 16" ones...

      Edit:

I'd be in for the Makore, or one of the mixed lots if I can get some cherry, oak would be useful too. I'd say I could go for a couple hundred dollars or so for a fair amount of wood.

I like the look of the Makore stack, and it's only $300 for over 1000BF right now. If someone wants to split it and the price stays low, I'm in.

        Makore is African Cherry IIRC.

I could go in for about $150 for a decent amount of wood.

I would definitely like to get in on the wood somehow. If anyone is in the central VA area, let's try to coordinate. Maybe split some of the wood up? I can't handle 1000BF in my shop, as much as I would like to, but I sure would like a couple hundred.

Please let us know if anyone is doing a lumber run! I'd gladly bid on some of it.

unbelievable - prices (current bids) seem unreal. 760 bf of white oak for $260? 925 bf birch/maple for $300?

i wish i lived closer, would have loved to stack some of that in my garage (and risk the ire of SWMBO)...

Now I know where all the used tools on eBay come from.

For those in the general neighborhood. PA, MD, DC, VA, panhandle WV (or other nearby areas). If we pool together we can get some of the larger lots. But as I just mentioned to Jeffrey, These don't end until the 5th, so the prices could be average by then. Let's keep our eyes on it for now.

I noticed that the Makore lot I mention is 500bf of Makore scrap (1x1 ripped stock) and 800bf of real boards. So read the descriptions if you do decide to bid on something.

Another I saw is for like 60 sheets of sheet goods. 15 maple. 15 maple/birch and 30+ chip board. Not a bad deal, but I don't know what I would do with that much chip board (I'm assuming that's similar to OSB or MDF)

Some of the other lots have a lot of scrap as well. There are also lots that appear to be mostly molding. Then there's the all the wood in the main shop, including the mezzanine loft that no one knows what's in it. The only walnut that I saw listed in any of the lots was scraps.

Of course, if the wood is good, there could be projects for that scrap. But the percentage is high on some lots.

I'll keep my eye on this, if prices stay low I want so good wood. I'm tired of oak from the big box stores.
