I heard the new one will have different sleds or tops. I assume it is used for adding multiple tools for one MSUV.

By the way anyone who is thinking of getting one of these, I consider it one of the best purchases I made. I have a small garage\shop and the msuv makes it so much easier to store and move out when I need it.

I picked one up for my Delta CMS. I must say that it's extremely well-built, and is just a breeze to set up and tear down.

The new one has larger, round rails and appears to be of a beefier construction. It has adjustable sleds so you don't have to drill into the flat plate to mount your saw. It appears to be a little more solid (the display of the new one was rock solid and the original MSUV display rocked a little).

        Hope this helps--

Very cool looking. I hope it works as good or better than older model.
Did the employees ask why you were taking pictures inside the store? Or was it a camera phone. If they asked you should have said you were an art connoisseur.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

New MSUV model looks nice. My first two thoughts are:

1.) Is the weight of the new model any different ? The existing model is great, but very heavy if you are moving it up and down stairs.

2.) For those who use the MSUV for multiple tools (saw, planer, etc), I wonder how much an extra set of mounting flanges cost ?

According to the post at the ridgid forum, it says it is 11 lbs. heavier. I find that hard to believe, but I guess the box says 96 lbs.

Mounting Flanges? Not used on the old.

I have one set of bolts I use with the old Delta 12" CMS and another set for the Ridgid Planer. Had to drill new holes for the planer I believe. Remember to look underneath as you plot your new holes.

You could mount each tool to a hunk of wood and then have one set of holes to use to bolt to.

yeah it is heavy, but one round trip with a heavy cart beats a 100 roundtrips with a piece of wood (to get to where the saw is).

                    have fun and be safe.

                      Good Deal Gloat

I decided to go to BORG today to see if they had any left.
Found 4 on the shelf marked at $99. Grabbed one and went to check out.

Rang up as $169 + tax. Told the lady it was $99 so she called the manager. I went with him to the shelf, he said OK, went back to the register with me. Told the lady to ring it as $99.

Since the computer still said $169, she had to adjust the price manually. Let's see, $169 - $99 = $70 off.

Nope. She subtracted $99 and rang it up. I pointed out that this was wrong. The manager was still there. He said "That's OK."

                      So I got it for $70 + tax = $75.78.

Don't ya' just love it when the cashiers can't figure out simple math?

First off I think you might have gotten the NEW version. I think the OLD was $149, and the NEW is $169!!!

When I got my tools this past week they put one on my cart, when it rang up $169 I said wait a minute it's suppose to be $99. They did a double check and found it was the NEW version and at $169 (tool manager didn't even know they had new ones). They found an old one and sold it to me for the $99.

You might want to double check to see if you got the old one or the new one. Oh yea,

                          Mildoc,

That was a great deal. Even if you got the old model (which I have), I'm sure you'll be happy.

I just can't understand how they'll let stuff like that slide in a heartbeat ($30 in your favor - I'm glad you pointed it out), but you ask for a few bucks off a dusty tool on the closeout table that's missing half it's parts and they look at you like the money is coming out of their paycheck.

                          Good score.

                          Pete

OMG! You are right! Put it together today, looked at the pic of the new model posted above. It is the new model! And there are 3 more at the local BORG with a shelf sticker that still says $99!

That's what I love to hate about the BORG. Half the time no one knows what they have, what it should sell for, or anything else.

So I got the new-not-on-sale-$169 MSUV for $70 + tax. Gloat!

Go back with the receipt, get the other three, ask for a price match (Same store, they should honor it), resell on Craiglist.

                                Just a thought.
